Dear Readers
God, who is love, can use the angels to do things for Him and they bring the Good News. St Gabriel, a messenger of light, came to announce the birth of Jesus Christ Our Lord and Saviour. In heaven, we will be like angels in front of God and the Holy Spirit will be within us. We are His children and the angels are His servants.
When we recite the salutations of the Chaplet of St Michael the Archangel, we invoke the whole nine Choirs of angels to come down from heaven and we should ask them for different things, calling on them often during the day.
The Bible does not reveal how many angels are assigned to an individual. The Early Fathers of the Church say that from the moment of conception each of us has a guardian angel by our side who is with us during and after death. They come to visit and console us in Purgatory.
The Catholic Church teaches us to have a close relationship with our guardian angel. We should treat them like close friends, as did the saints. Pray to your guardian angel, as well as to the guardian angel of those who are in sickness and unresolved situations, and they will help you.
St Michael the Archangel is a Knight and can be called an exorcist because he casts to hell all demons through divine power. According to Tradition and many saints he was also the guardian angel of Jesus. He is mentioned in a solemn way only five times in the Bible. St Padre Pio often said ‘Thanks to St Michael, I won lots of battles in my life’.
The Gospel of St Luke reveals angels enjoying seeing the very first and the most important of God’s attributes, Divine Mercy. Everything depends on faith, so pray for the intercession of St Faustina for a deeper relationship with God and your guardian angel. St Faustina needed St Michael the Archangel and called on him often for help and assistance.
The true and real angels rejoice joyfully, pointing the way to God and help develop our virtues and spirituality.
